Abstract

This work was conceived with the purpose of evaluating the mechanical properties of the poliesteramides with 3 and 10 % of ester group, obtained from the tartaric and succinic acids. These same ones constitute polymers with a potential application in the biomedical sector for their possible use in surgical interventions for suture threads. The investigation has been developed in the characterization and property areas and our objective was the study of the mechanical behaviour of these polymers carried out starting from dry and humid samples. As results it is necessary to highlight that the poliesteramides appear more ductile and more flexible as the content is increased in ester groups; so much in dried as in humid poliesteramides, the elastic module and the maximum tension diminish, while the elongation to break increases.
