Micro-Electroanalytical Determination of Potassium in Pharmaceutical and Clinical Samples
Abstract
Conditions to quantify the amount of potassium in different samples of pharmaceutical and clinical interest by using electrochemical techniques conductimetry, voltammetry and classical polarography were established. Potassium ion concentrations were determined by means of electrochemical signal of Co(III) and Co(II) in AcBS medium after precipitation of potassium cobaltinitrite (K3[Co(NO2)6]). The development of an electroanalytical microcell with an operational minimal volume of 1 mL and three miniaturized electrodes is described as well.
Keywords: cobaltinitrite, voltammetry, conductimetry, polarography, electroanalytical microcell.
