DOS APLICACIONES DE LA TÉCNICA DE ANÁLISIS DE FLUJOS METABÓLICOS
Abstract
Metabolic Engineering is the branches of biological science that deals with the study and evaluation of the changes that occurs in a targeted manner in metabolism. Among the objectives of this integrated methodology is to obtain the product’s yield of interest to values near the theoretical maximum. A mathematical model to describe the cell metabolism under study is the basis for metabolic engineering. In this paper, mathematical modeling of metabolism is applied to lysine overproduction in Corynebacterium glutamicum. With metabolic flux analysis technique application and using mathematical simulation was determined the maximum theoretical yield for the production of lysine and with these flux distributions were identified the principal nodes in the metabolic network. We arrived to the same conclusions as those obtained experimentally and reported in the literature. Keywords: metabolic flux, theoretical yield, mathematical modeling, metabolism.
