Preparation and evaluation of internal reference material for determination of Fe, Si and Ni lateritic ore in Eastern North of Cuba
Abstract
Developing and evaluating preliminarily an internal reference material (IRM) for the determination of Fe, Si and Ni in the lateritic ore from the Eastern North of Cuba is the aim of this paper. For that reason, an internal reference sample was prepared, which was made and evaluated according to the established instructions of normalization. Preparation and evaluation of IRM were essential in order to obtain more reliable analytic results, to decrease the quality costs and to give greater satisfaction to the client by our analytic services. Fifteen duplicates were made to evaluate statistically the obtained results and to certify the contents of the analyzed elements. For the homogeneity test, was chosen the metal Ni as element to be evaluated. Conclusive results were obtained from good homogenization of the sample.
